Located
at 50 Hillside Road, Greenville, Alexis I. duPont High School was founded
in 1893. Originally housed at 3130 Kennett Pike, the school moved to its
present location in 1966. The provider of secondary education in the former
Alexis I. duPont School District until 1978, it is now one of four high
schools in the Red Clay Consolidated School District. Building on a tradition
of excellence, Alexis I. duPont High School welcomes the challenges of the
twenty-first century. |

Rising senior, Gina Perrigrino, is living a dream this summer: studying opera in Tuscany. Gina was selected as one of 40 students and teachers across the U.S. to attend the Sienna Summer Music Session. The AI High Reading Lists are posted to the left at the Reading Lists links and the public libraries and bookstores have been notified! So get comfy in a beach chair or hammock and let the reading begin! From "Friday Night Lights" to "The Pact" by the Three Doctors to "Slaughterhouse-Five" there is something for everyone on the reading lists. Books are available at local public libraries, bookstores, and online. The AI High Library does not have summer hours.
| Class of 2009 -- New Beginnings The Class of 2009 Graduation Ceremony took place Saturday, June 6th at 6:00pm at the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware. Over 250 graduates were celebrated by many friends and family who packed the arena. Outgoing principal, Mr. Sam Golder, honored the graduates as featured speaker. Student speakers Cat Horstmann, Gretchen Wagner, and Wendy Suh recalled special memories and encouraged classmates to do good works in the world. Click here for pictures of the 2009 ceremonies from the News Journal site. | AI Tiger Marching Band -- Fiesta Bowl-Bound The TIGER MARCHING BAND is one of ten high school bands from across the nation invited to perform at the 63rd annual Fiesta Bowl Parade, Phoenix, Arizona, on January 2, 2010. Along with bands from Delaware, Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, California, Ohio and Missouri, the parade will feature both college marching bands from the competing teams. The parade can be seen on ABC television and live- stream on the internet. |
