WELCOME

Located at 50 Hillside Road, Greenville, Alexis I. duPont High School was founded in 1893. Originally housed at 3130 Kennett Pike, the school moved to its present location in 1966. The provider of secondary education in the former Alexis I. duPont School District until 1978, it is now one of five high schools in the Red Clay Consolidated School District. Building on a tradition of excellence, Alexis I. duPont High School welcomes the challenges of the twenty-first century.

Inclement Weather Information--No School Tuesday, February 9, 2010
Due to inclement weather and snow accumulation, schools will be also be closed onTuesday, Feb. 9 2010. Offices will be open and 12 month employees should report at the regular time.

AI Wrestling: It's Golden-- 1960-2010--Celebrate Feb. 13
The Alexis I. DuPont High School wrestling team is celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. To commemorate this occasion former wrestlers, coaches, managers, and fans are asked to attend the final dual meet of the season at A.I. High School against Caravel Academy at 12:30 on Saturday February 13. 2010 where they will be recognized. A special reunion will follow that evening at McGlynn’s Restaurant at Poly Drummond at 7:00. For information concerning tickets, a special edition of the A.I. Wrestling Yearbook 1960 – 2010, and a commemorative tee shirt contact George Lacsny at (302) 428-1206, Tom Hogan at (302) 824-4358, or Vic Leonard at (302) 995-1366.
AI Tiger Football -- State Honors
On Monday night January 25th members of the 10-1 Flight A Champion A.I. du Pont Tiger Football team were recognized for their accomplishments at the DIFCA State Football Banquet in Dover.
*Among those recognized were the nine members of the academic all-state team: Seniors Dan Brady, Jeff Downey, Joe Bermingham, Joe Paleen, Sam Goines, Shane Witt, William Jones, DeMarkus Kirby, Ramsey Lowery, Robert Jamison and William Annan were recognized for carrying a 3.50 or higher GPA through the football season.
*Shane Witt was also awarded for earning the Sportsmanship Award from AI du Point.
*Terrace Bourne was awarded 1st team All-State honors as both an offensive guard and defensive tackle (the only player this season to be first team on both sides of the ball). Terrace was also name the Delaware Lineman of the Year. Terrace helped clear the way for an offense that led D-1 with 284 rush yards a game. Defensively terrace had 8.5 sacks and a fumble recovery for a TD.
*Christopher Dollard was awarded 1st team All-State honors for his play at Defensive End and was named 2nd team All-State at offensive Tackle. As an athletic DE he wreaked havoc on opposing offensives.
*Sam Goines was awarded 1st team All-State honors at Linebacker. Sam was also named the Delaware Defensive Player of the Year. Sam was the heart and soul of a defense that gave up only 2.7 points a game, held 3 teams under 100 yards of offense and racked up 7 shutouts.
*William “CJ” Jones was recognized as 1st team All-State Defensive Back and 3rd team All-State Quarterback. CJ was also named the Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year. CJ led an offense that averaged 35 points a game with 10 yards a carry. CJ ran for 19 touchdowns and threw for 2 more, along with the interception return for a touchdown. CJ is a dominate athlete on both sides of the ball and will be continuing his football career at Boston College next year.
*Finally, Head Coach Zeb Blum was named the Division I Coach of the Year. Blum led the Tigers to a 10-0 regular season record, after the seniors at AI had won only 8 games in the previous 3 years.
