PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The PTSA at A. I. duPont High School is the Parent, Teacher, and Student Association. We are an “all-inclusive” and total volunteer organization. We welcome and encourage active participation in all aspects of the PTSA. We take “Tiger Pride” in sponsoring and funding numerous student and school activities.
- Creates and publishes the School Newsletter
- Supports student dances; including the much anticipated “After-Prom,” encouraging student safety at prom time by providing a safe place to go after the prom is over. If you would like to make a donation for the "After-Prom" click here. Here is a list of the Top 10 Questions asked about after prom and the 2009 After-Prom committee.
- Sponsors the PTSA Student Directory by having parents sign the “Parent Pledge” supporting non-use of alcohol or drugs in the home of high school students and high school guests
- Annually sponsors the National PTA Reflections Competition
- Sponsors “Academic Awards Night” for students at the end of each school year
- Sponsors numerous Staff Appreciation events throughout the year
- Helps provide books and media for our school Library
- Supports school and campus beautification
- Promotes SmartDrive (safe driving program for Teens)
- Provides student service and leadership opportunities
- Sponsors “Treats for Troops” program
- Provides education legislation updates

Officers:
- Co-Presidents
- The Co-Presidents shall:
1. Preside at all meetings of the PTSA;
2. Serve as ex officio member of all other committees except the nominating committee;
3. Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the PTSA in order that the objects may be promoted;
4. Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the executive board.

- Secretary
- The Secretary shall:
a. Record the minutes of all meetings of the A.I. du Pont High School PTSA;
b. Be prepared to read the records of any previous meetings;
c. File all records;
d. Have a current copy of the bylaws;
e. Maintain a membership list;
f. Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the executive committee.

- Treasurer
- The Treasurer shall:
a. Have custody of the funds of the PTSA;
b. Maintain a full account of the funds of the PTSA;
c. Make disbursements as authorized by the president, the executive board, or the PTSA in accordance with the budget adopted by the PTSA;
d. Have checks or vouchers signed by two people: the treasurer and one other person;
e. Cause to be kept a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements in the books belonging to the A.I. du Pont High School PTSA;
f. Provide a written financial statement at each membership meeting;
g. Present an annual report of the financial condition of the organization;
h. Submit the books annually for an audit by an auditing committee selected by the executive board at least one month before the meeting at which new officers assume duties.
i. Report the findings of the annual audit to the executive board.
j. Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the executive board.
